Only a small number of stars in the sky actually have names allocated to them. Each Name a Star gift box contains the details of one unnamed star, including its official number and location. You are able to then register your chosen star name. Once registration is complete, you'll receive a certificate confirming the star name and the information will be stored and submitted to the British Library.

After registration the recipient receives an ornate certificate detailing their star naming details.
